Before I was even aware of the existence of knitting blogs and using Bloglines, I was a member of KnitU, the knitting list run by XRX, Inc., publishers of Knitter’s Magazine. Since I joined, the moderator was someone known by us members as Aunt Gail. Due to lately extremely sporadic KnitU delivery to my email account, I didn’t learn until last night that she passed away nearly two weeks ago, on November 16. I never met Gail McHugh in person, but I feel as though I knew her through all those humorous and helpful comments she added to many of the KnitU contributions and through some detailed troubleshooting email exchanges we had earlier this year. I will miss her humor and her patience, and her delightful presence in the KnitU community. Knit on.
